"The Great Domaines of Burgundy" 一書的精英酒莊也是漫畫「神之雫」第四集(大家應該都知道漫畫在尚未大紅大紫的前15集左右所畫到的酒款, 絕對是有非常大的參考價值的, 因為當初尚未有置入性行銷的狀況), 裡介紹酒莊: Lecheneaut,由老莊主 Fernand Lecheneaut 創立,坐落於Nuit-St-Georges 村莊內。酒廠擁有的酒園散佈於夜丘各著名產區,其Nuit-St-Georges酒大部分來自靠近Vosne Romanee村莊的葡萄園,酒的風味也較接近,擁有較多華麗優美的花果香氣。酒莊大部分的葡萄都超過五十歲以上,2000年起全面改為有機栽種。

1986年因老莊主過世兩個兒子Philippe與 Vincent正式接掌酒廠,兩兄弟接手後作出許多改變,藉由降低產量提高葡萄品質,釀造時完全去梗,但2005年開始20-50%的收成會整批釀造、 5-6天冷浸皮,發酵溫度最高34度C,並使用跟 DRC、Leroy 一樣的頂級橡木桶來培養葡萄酒。酒廠的村莊酒會以30-50%新桶培養、一級酒採80-100%新橡木桶,而頂級園則用100%新桶。2002年酒廠唯一 的一款頂級酒Clos de la Roche獲得Parker 評比98-100分,年產量僅400-450瓶,品質可媲美Dujac、Armand Rouseau 等傳統名莊,其實在漫畫錦上添花之前, Lecheneaut也早就是布根地炙手可熱的酒莊。

This was quite firmly reduced and all that could be discerned were notes of wood toast. Otherwise there is a lovely interplay between tension, power, muscle and precision to the big-bodied and overtly muscular flavors that culminate in a wonderfully long if seriously structured finale. This built-to-age effort isn't quite old school in style but at the same it seems clear that it's pointless to purchase this without the intention to allow it at least 8 to 10 years first.

Reduction renders the nose impossible to assess. By contrast there is excellent freshness and verve to the beautifully detailed medium-bodied flavors that possess both good volume and richness before culminating in a firm, moderately rustic and slightly austere finale. This will need a few years of bottle age first.

A distinctly earthy nose is composed of liqueur-like dark currant aromas that are laced with notes of humus, game and plenty of earth character. The rich, powerful and impressively concentrated full-bodied flavors possess excellent delineation on the sappy, mineral-infused, complex and long finish. This is an unusually good Gevrey villages and highly recommended.

A ripe, fresh and layered nose is composed by notes of plum, violet, earth, the sauvage and a subtle hint of wood. Once again there is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delicious, saline and focused medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a balanced and solidly persistent finale. At least a few years of patience will be beneficial.

5.15 Lecheneaut, MSD 1er Cru Clos des Ormes@NT$2,800

A more restrained but equally pretty nose combines notes of dark raspberry with those of earth, underbrush and forest floor characters. There is a fine sense of energy and punch to the delicious and lightly mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that deliver good focus and solid depth and length on the mildly austere finish.

Interestingly given where the vines are located, this is actually slightly aromatically riper with its earthy essence of black cherry scents. By contrast there is a finer mouthfeel to the sleek and utterly delicious flavors that exude a subtle minerality before terminating in a detailed and discreetly austere finale.

這麼說好了 如果您正在找布根地基本款的實惠替代品, 那麼, 這款酒, 請給個機會試試!! 我說過很多次, 是不是自然酒, 從來不是我選酒奉為圭臬的守則. 不過這款酒正是不折不扣, 完全不加二氧化硫的自然酒. 來自Penedes產區, 很多人第一印象絕對是單寧飽滿豐厚, 色澤極黑, 滿滿的美國橡木桶帶來的香草風味 ... 這款酒卻完全是猶如新鮮現壓紅色莓果汁!香氣活潑青春,覆盆子與草莓, 細節帶許多地中海香料,低酒精度與恰當酸度與單寧, 真的是款非常適合夏天飲用的紅酒!! 啊 說也十分巧合, 試到這款酒之後一個星期, 華人界葡萄酒著作備受推崇的林裕森大師剛好拜訪完這家酒莊, 並且在其FB給了極高的評價, 還說要台灣的葡萄酒酒廠去西班牙跟這家酒莊學習!

更重要的是, 價格非常優秀!!

上個月我們推薦了今天要推薦的這款酒的單一葡萄園品項(WA:97),  當時120瓶的量, 在短短兩個小時就被搶購一空....  今天推薦的這款酒, 不是單一葡萄園, 但是一樣得到WA 94分的超高分, 而且價格更是比美國的平均賣價還少了20%!!

耕種:百年老藤、杯形(Goblet)與傳統無剪枝系統

產量: 4,200 瓶 (750ml)

釀造: 來自超過 15 塊葡萄田分開釀造,40%入梗浸漬,野生酵母自然發酵, 8個月舊桶陳年,裝瓶前在做最後混釀。

品酒筆記: 黑色果實、棗子、藍莓、桑椹、胡椒、森林、青草等香氣,搭襯著相當鮮明的火山煙灰氣味。酸度明亮,曠感鮮明、單寧輕柔、酒體輕盈但適中,尾韻長。雖為村莊級酒款,但卻有著龐大的陳年潛力,值得久藏。

週五驚嚇現貨Go---年年都賣到缺貨的德國天王莊園: Joh Jos Prum(稀世珍釀75號)

 

Dear All,

只要說起德國白酒(更精確的應該說, 這世界上的白酒), J.J.Prum(一般稱為普綠園)絕對是愛酒人必備的收藏. 這個現在由法學博士Katharina Prum領導的莊園, 面積約有14公頃, 種植的葡萄100%都是Riesling. 其中最重要的一塊葡萄園就是五公頃大的[日晷]園(Sonnenuhr ). 土壤為藍灰色的板岩, 多數都是"原生"老藤(許多其他的莊園種植的是從美國嫁接來的葡萄樹), 將普綠園推向顛峰的老莊主Manfred認為原生老藤所釀的酒比起嫁接的要來得更均衡與協調, 同時受到霜凍不易"落果", 也不會因為綿綿的陰雨而腐爛, 因為這邊的土地本來就最適合"原生"葡萄樹. 而且Manfred採收的時間都比鄰園要至少晚上一兩週, 常常都要冒著隨時會下起大雨而讓葡萄受傷的風險, 但是, 也因為如此, 普綠園所釀造出來的酒, 都非常的耐久存!!

美國著名雜誌Wine Spectator就曾在1994年撰寫了一篇名為"Patience and Perfection"的文章來介紹普綠園是如何對於採收的時間錙銖必較, 和做出偉大的Riesling白酒是需要何等"鋼鐵般"的意志!! 以下節錄文章部份:
"To make great Riesling, you need nerves of steel. No one knows this better than Manfred Prüm, owner of the legendary German wine estate of Joh. Jos. Prüm in the Mosel River Valley. Long after most of the neighboring vineyards have given up their grapes, the 59-year-old winemaker still looks to the morning sky to see if it's time to pick the famed Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard. Can he afford to wait another day to let the grapes ripen even more? Or is it time to tell his pickers to go into the vineyard before bad weather strikes?
Prüm has even let grapes hang in the rain, gambling that dry, sunny weather will return and yet higher levels of ripeness and concentration can be attained. When this happens he glows with satisfaction and spares no effort to select the most heavily botrytized grapes that are needed for Germany's richest wines. Of course, he can also lose the gamble, and with it his grapes, to the rain and stormy weather. "Sometimes we have to accept losses," he says philosophically, "but looked at statistically, we win more often than we lose."

不過, 讚許與介紹得再多, 也得喝上一回, 才能讓人心領神會!!尤其在春天充滿陽光的午後, 無論在自家庭院或是外出踏青, 若能啜飲一口普綠園, 肯定讓人通體舒暢, 忘卻煩憂!!

週五驚嚇現貨Go --- 這家酒莊的精華盡在其靈性,但靈性不能形諸文字: Montenidoli (萬巢之山)

義大利酒專家Nicolas Belfrage在他的專著The Finest Wines Of Tuscany介紹過一兩百個酒莊,對每個酒莊他都會在文末評介一下醉值得留意的酒,唯獨在Montenidoli這一章,他只語帶神秘的說道:

"You have to sense it, taste it, relate to it. So I won't attempt to describe her wines, except to say they're different.I will merely give you their names and a little information, urging you to track them down."

 

而標題也來自Nicolas形容Montenidoli的一段話,"The essential ingredient of Elisabetta Fagiuoli's wines is soul, and you can't describe soul."

 

要了解Montenidoli, 真的要拜讀的是香港義大利酒的傳道士 --- Stephen Wong(網路筆名:抱青) --- 的文章. 真的也是很奇妙,會欣賞相同酒的人,似乎無論在天涯海角,都有機會能夠湊在一起吃飯聊酒,我和Stephen也就是這麼經由朋友輾轉介紹認識的.

 

MW(Master of Wine) Mark Pygott品試了Montenidoli的白酒 : Montenidoli , Il Templare , Toscana IGT Bianco, 他給了我以下的Tasting Notes: " Delicious, savoury, rich, salty and perfect for a Sunday afternoon. It's my kind of wine. Interesting but not taxing, savoury but not without fruit and rich but still vivacious."

 

Robert Parker的義大利酒酒評代表Monica Larner,在品試了Vernaccia di San Gimignano產區所Review44款酒中(第一次Review)Montenidoli2010Carato得到最高的94, 不過就像Stephen跟我說的,Elisabetta根本就不會在乎這些分數,因為,我們也不是因為分數愛上MontenidoliMontenidoli也不是因為有分數才開始釀造葡萄酒的...如果可以早些發現這些真正用心與葡萄對話,卻從不在價格上哄抬的美麗小酒莊,不僅荷包不會莫名失血,還有種比酒評家更早了解這些酒的"痛快感",喝葡萄酒的樂趣,不正在此嗎?:)

1. 16 Montenidoli, Tradizionale Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG@NT$850

Blend: 100% Vernaccia
Fermentation:Following local tradition, the must macerates long on the skins, and is pressed just before the fermentation begins, to capture the character and the flavors of the land.
Pale yellow, tending towards gold, with hay and almonds on the nose, and rich on the palate, with a firm dry finish.
Food-Wine Pairings: Perfect for ideal for olive oil-based Mediterranean dishes. Well suited for all manner of seafood dishes, including raw fish, and is perfect with sushi. For vegetable based dishes year round, including the tannins of artichokes or asparagus, and the iron of spinach and liver.

2. 16 Montenidoli, Fiore Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG@NT$990
Blend: 100% Vernaccia
Fermentation: The free-run must, which expresses the terrific elegance and finesse of the varietal. The must flows naturally from the grapes that break because of the pressure of those above them in the press. It ferments in steel and ages long on the lees to gain roundness and persistence.
Food-Wine Pairings: The most elegant expression of Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Well suited to delicate dishes with cream sauces, steamed fish, and delicate fish such as sole, whiting, or brook trout. Perfect with fish mousse or soufflé, and white meats including chicken breast, turkey breast, or milk-fed veal.

 

3. 12 Montenidoli, Il Templare Toscana IGT Bianco@NT$1,060
Blend: 70% Vernaccia, 20% Trebbiano Gentile, 10% Malvasia Bianca 
FermentationThe great white wine of the warrior monks of the middle ages, to be drunk, says the Rule, "as needed to distance the cold." From Vernaccia, Trebbiano, and Malvasia grapes fermented in old barriques, in which it ages for 12 months.
Food-Wine Pairings: A classic Tuscan white wine, perfect with molluscs and crustaceans, and also with stock fish, sword fish, tuna, and the other great fish of the high seas.

 

4. 13 Montenidoli, Carato Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG@NT$1,450
Blend: 100% Vernaccia
Fermentation: The free-run must from the best vineyards, which ferments in barrels and ages on the lees for 12 months. Wood contributes to the complexity of the secondary aromas, developing, over time, a richness of flavor and taste that brings to mind citrus and honey. 
Food-Wine Pairings: Perfect with cheeses or richer dishes. It is also ideal for the evening, refreshing the palate after the fuller reds of an important meal.

 

5. 17 Montenidoli, Canaiuolo Toscana IGT Rosato@NT$900
Blend: 100% Canaiolo
Fermentation: From red-stemmed Canaiolo grapes with the aromas of white grapes and the richness of red grapes. A free-run must that ferments slowly, and is bottled as soon as the sugars have fermented, to maintain its freshness.
Food-Wine Pairings: The perfect aperitif, if possible in a Champagne flute. A delicately colored rosé with floral aromas, full soft flavors, and a savory finish.
6. 16 Montenidoli, Il Garrulo, Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG@NT$850
Blend: 75% Sangiovese, 20% Canaiolo, 3% Trebbiano gentile, 2% Malvasia Bianca
Fermentation: The two red grapes and the two white grapes specified in the old Chianti regulations, after the formula developed by Barone Ricasoli. It ferments on the skins, with a long maceration in tank. A savory wine with a rich nose, soft, and with a long finish.
Food-Wine Pairings: Perfect with tomatoes and thus ideal with many Mediterranean dishes. Ideal for barbecues and with grilled fish, meats, of vegetables. A wine for every occasion, light on the palate and pleasant to drink.

7. 16 Montenidoli, Toscana IGT Rosso@NT$1,060
Blend: 100% Sangiovese

Vinification: the Sangiovese grapes of Montenidoli macerate and fermentin glass-lined cement tanks. It refines in French barrels and it is bottled after one year to preserve its vibrant youth.
A bright, brilliant red, with a fresh clean nose.
In the mouth it is lively and exuberant with a tough, long aftertaste.

Wine-food pairings: a perfect wine for meats, from poultry to beef to pork, 
whether grilled, roasted, or cooked atop the stove. Also excellent with lamb, 
duck, pheasant or ham and salami
